Cantonese Dictionary With Pronunciation and Picture

I introduced GoldenDict in my previous post and now I continue to introduce its Wikipedia function. GoldenDict can show content from Wikipedia side by side with dictionary entry and audio from Forvo. This function transforms GoldenDict into a Cantonese dictionary with pronunciation, picture and even passages of written Cantonese. (Of course, not every entry has both the pronunciation and picture…)

Cantonese Dictionary With Picture and Pronunciation

Steps

  1. Click “Edit” and choose “dictionaries”
  2. Go to “Wikipedia” tab and add Cantonese Wikipedia. Put
    http://zh-yue.wikipedia.org/w

into the address. Be sure to click the “enabled” box

Even with passages of written Cantonese

This is almost perfect! What we need to do is to ask more people to record their Cantonese pronunciations in Forvo and add more pictures in Cantonese Wiki.

    Yes, perfect! Thank you.

  2. This is really good. do you have the cantofish data file with Jyutping? thanks

    1. Hi Toan,
Cantofish data file is in here, near the bottom of the post

      1. Thanks. But I mean I need the Cantofish with Jyutping, not Yale. The link you gave me with Yale. I remember, Cantofish have two system Jyutping and Yale.

      2. That Cantofish dictionary is in Jyutping. However, Cantofish doesn’t contain much Cantonese expressions.
